I don’t have a favorite essay from the anthology. How could I? I believe in all of them and love how they speak to and strengthen each other. But, if I had to pick one I wish everyone would read, it would be Osayi Endolyn’s “Trapped In, Dining Out.” I think it’s relevant to all of us, in different ways. I edited it to fit the Washington Post’s word count, which meant cutting over half the original. It’s still indelibly powerful and stands on its own, but I hope people read both for the full impact.
